Rose

Margaret Pinder, 24 Albert Terrace, Beverley, HU17 8JU

Welcome to my website. I’m Margaret Pinder and this is where you can follow my campaign as your prospective parliamentary candidate to win Beverley & Holderness for Labour on 7 May 2015.

The last four years of Conservative government, shored up by the Lib Dems, have seen our society grow increasingly unequal and unfair.

The party that claims to uphold "British values" has attacked many of the things I think are important to this country and which I know most of you think are important too.

I believe in a strong National Health Service, which is publicly owned, publicly managed and free at the point of delivery.

I believe in a properly funded public sector to deliver the services and infrastructure we all need; services such as a good education for all our children, a strong and effective police force, free from politically motivated and poorly accountable Police and Crime Commissioners, appropriate welfare support for those in need; infrastructure such as decent roads and housing.

I believe all these things are essential to a successful and fair society that works for every citizen. Labour will deliver all of these because Labour works for everyone, not just the very rich.

The Tories like to blame Labour for the economic recession. Four years down the line this has been exposed for the lie it is. Before the international banking crisis, borrowing under Labour was lower than under the previous Tory government. Under this Tory government public borrowing has increased dramatically while most people in full-time work are £2000 a year worse off. Tax revenue is down because too many people are in part-time and poorly paid work.

Labour is economically responsible; Labour will not sell off your vital public services; Labour delivers a fair society for all.

Those are my British values, my Labour values.

Join me in fighting for a Labour victory in May 2015; a victory for a fair and successful Britain.
